Suriya-starrer "24" has reached a milestone as the bilingual movie has grossed Rs. 100 crore at the worldwide box office. The movie took 18 days to achieve the feat.

The news of "24" grossing Rs. 100 crore has been announced by the makers of the film. They have released a new poster to confirm the news. According to early estimations coming from the industry, the film has raked in close to Rs. 40 crore from Tamil Nadu alone. However, the makers are yet to reveal the area-wise break-up of the film's collections.

"24" was released in over 1500 screens and had earned Rs. 19.22 crore on the first day at the worldwide box office. The movie had shown signs of performing well at the global box office.

As predicted, "24" had ended its three-day first weekend at Rs. 55.68 crore. However, the Tamil Nadu market had remained a concern for the film as it could not pile up huge revenue there. It made a collection of Rs. 15.5 crore in the opening weekend in its home territory.

"24," which has been made with the budget of Rs. 70 crore, opened to positive reviews from the critics and audience alike. It has done well in 'A' centres but the performance in the 'B' and 'C' centres has not been up to the mark in Tamil Nadu.

However, the makers should feel happy with its performance at the overseas centres. "24" has fared strongly at some international centres, including the United States, where it has collected about $1.6 million (Rs. 10.8 crore) till date.

Vikram Kumar's "24," which also stars Samantha and Nithya Menen in the female lead roles, is a science-fiction movie about time travel. Suriya himself has produced the film under his home banner of 2D Entertainment.
