Some images of Mars taken by the Curiosity Rover have shown a number of curious objects on the Red Planet, including a crab, spoon and a crashed UFO. It seems the Curiosity Rover is busy excavating the remains of a perished alien community and NASA is hell-bent on keeping it a secret from the common people.
As claimed by some, there are various objects and creatures, including a strange woman, that can be spotted in the pictures. A conspiracy theorist, Scott C Waring, has even claimed possible male, female and child figures can be seen in one of the photographs.
"To everyone's amazement, some anonymous person in Asia did and posted it on the Internet causing widespread excitement over the possibilities of life existing on Mars. This led me to new discoveries of a male and a possible child figure near the female figure," he wrote on the UFO Sightings Daily.
Scott has red circled a number of such possible sightings in a particular photograph taken by the Curiosity Rover, named PIA10216.
Dismissing the idea of existence of creatures like Martian crabs or iguanas, Ashwin Vasavada--a NASA scientist working on the Mars Rover project--told CNN, "One of the best things we found is that Mars could support life, (but) if anything we think it's microbial life that's possible at this time. Things like rats and iguanas would be way further up the food chain that we think Mars may have ever gotten to."
Adding to the disappointment of the theorists who want to believe that there are some significant life forms on the Mars, there is a much practical and simpler explanation behind those infuriating alien artifacts that keep cropping up on Mars. Apparently, it is the same reason people see Jesus and Elvis in their potato chips.
The phenomenon is known as "Pareidolia", a psychological condition involving a stimulus (an image or a sound) wherein the mind perceives a familiar pattern where none actually exists. In simpler words, it is a trick of the mind that is always trying to turn images of the unknown into something familiar. This is the very reason why images of rats, mermaids and other creatures and objects keep appearing on the planet's surface.
A research conducted by neurologist Joel Voss revealed that the brain of a human being is not very skeptical when processing new visual information.
The research stated that the various objects, faces and creatures spotted by individuals in inkblots, clouds, etc are just distant memories of something or someone they have seen before. The mind inadvertently tries to associate them with random things like potato chips and in this case, the surface of Mars.
No matter how much some of us wish for it, but occurrence of alien bodies on the Mars is still far from being proved remotely.
