Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA Update Released to Asus Zenfone 4, 5, 6 Series [How to Install]

Asus has reportedly released the much-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the Zenfone 4, 5 and 6 series smartphones via OTA (Over-The-Air).

This is a pleasant surprise to many Asus Zenfone device owners since the company, just a few days ago, had announced the update roll-out might get delayed by 3-4 months.

Now, the new update (build number: V3.23.40.52_20150522) has been deployed to Zenfone 5 variants - A500CG and A501CG. And, the Lollipop firmware with build version V7.3.3 and V3.23.40.52_20150522 has also been rolled out to Zenfone 4 (A400CG/CXG) and Zenfone 6 (A600CG / A601CG), respectively.

How to install Android 5.0 Lollipop on Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 via OTA:

If Asus Zenfone series device owners are getting the update notifications, then select "Yes, Download" option >> then, after downloading, select >> "Install now." The phone will restart automatically and the OS will be updated to the new version.

We would like to remind out readers that the roll-out process is carried out in phases, so it will take some time to reach all corners of the world.

Until then, users can check for OTA update manually by going to – 'Settings' >> 'About phone' >> 'System update' >> 'Check Now';

The company has also posted release notes, stating that the some apps will get uninstalled and the new apps will get added along with Lollipop goodies like the new design language, "Material Design", with interactive user interface, lots of animation graphics, lock-screen notification options and the replacement of Dalvik with ART as its default runtime will bring improvement in performance-and-battery-life enhancement and many more features.

The updates are also available in images (manual downloadable files) so that tech-savvy Zenfone device owners who are impatient to wait for the OTA updates can directly flash their smartphones.
