After months of trying, Popular Chinese iOS coders have finally cracked opened the kernel protection in the recently released Apple iOS 9.3.3.

Apple had patched the loop-hole in the kernel protection system in the iOS v9.2 in late October in 2015 and ever since many jailbreak communities have tried to break open it, but it never materialise until now.

Now, Pangu Team have confirmed (via Twitter) that they are ready with iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak code and have released the Chinese version. Whereas, the English-based global version is expected to rolled out really soon.

Disclaimer: This procedure is very technical and should be performed by a person with sound knowledge of rooting (or manual software installation) Apple devices. If the step-by-step installation process is not followed properly, there are chances of the smartphone getting bricked or being permanently irreparable. Pre-requisite:

  • Make sure the device is running the latest Apple iOS 9.2 or later
  • PC must also be running the latest Apple iTunes software
  • Back-up everything

[Launch iTunes >> select- photos, contacts and others >> Right Click on your device >> Select back-up and let it sync]

  • Then take your device and go to

Settings >> General >> Reset >> Erase all contents and settings >> Erase iPhone

Then on re-activation >> set it up as new device

  • This version is for Windows PC only. (Mac version will be released soon)

Here's the procedure on How to install Pangu iOS v9.2-iOS v9.3.3 jailbreak tool:

Step 1: Turn off both Passcode (& Touch ID) and Find My Phone options

  • [To switch-off Passcode (& Touch ID) go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode >Turn Passcode Off ]
  • To switch-off Find My Phone go to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone > Click to turn off.

Step 2: Come back to Settings menu and switch on 'Airplane mode'

Step 3: Download Pangu iOS v9.2-iOS v9.3.3 jailbreak code- HERE in to your PC and install it.

Step 4: Connect Apple iDevice (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch) to the PC and launch Pangu 25pp application software in the computer

Step 5: Select 'Start' to initiate jailbreaking procedure [Note: make sure iDevice is connected to Internet]

Step 6: A pop-up window will appear on the computer with Captcha option appears, continue the installation as guided

[Note: During the jailbreaking procedure, Pangu and WWDC icons will appear on the Apple iDevice. Then, the devices will re-boot and ask you unlock the phone and also ask to turn on the Airplane mode again. Once done, the process will continue to final stages of the jailbreaking procedure]

Step 7: Once installed, Pangu PP app icon appears iDevice home screen. Then, Go to Settings -> General -> Device Management and open the Pangu developer profile and tap "Trust" button.

Step 8: Launch Pangu PP app on iDevice, accept push notification option. Once permission is given, close the device manually , to let the jailbreak process start. Users will get the push notifications from the app on the Lock screen. If a "Storage Almost Full" notification appears on the screen, ignore it.

[Note: Make sure, device is locked during the installation process]

Step 9: Once installation is finished, the iDevice will automatically reboots. If Cydia appears on the Home screen then its an indication that the jailbreak process has completed successfully.

It is said that the Cydia will take some time "Preparing filesystem" when it gets launched for the first time.

It has to be noted that the iOS v9.2-9.3.3 jailbreak code is applicable only to 64-bit based devices online. This means users will be able to liberate only select models.
