Shah Rukh Khan-starrer thriller drama "Fan," which opened to positive reviews, has failed to charm at the box office. The box office collection of the Shah Rukh-starrer dropped on Tuesday, while American fantasy drama "The Jungle Book" raked in more than the Bollywood film.

"The Jungle Book" is now the highest Hollywood grosser in India with Rs. 113.70 crore and has attained blockbuster status as well. The film, directed by Jon Favreau, has shattered the Rs. 108 crore collection of "Fast and Furious 7" movie in India.

"#TheJungleBook attains BLOCKBUSTER status. [Week 2] Fri 8.02 cr, Sat 8.51 cr, Sun 10.67 cr, Mon 5.09 cr, Tue 6.37 cr. Total: ₹ 113.70 cr. #TheJungleBook Tue over Mon biz grew by 25.15% ... Surprisingly, "The Jungle Book" minted more than the Shah Rukh-starrer "Fan" on its second Tuesday. The business of the fantasy drama went up by 25.15 percent on the second Tuesday due to partial holiday in the country, whereas the first Tuesday collection of "Fan" went down by 4.96 percent.

Tuesday's collection of "The Jungle Book" stands at Rs. 6.37 crore, which is higher than the Rs. 5.74 crore business of "Fan."

Maneesh Sharma's directorial film "Fan," which was released in 3,500 screens in India, was expected to have a good box office collection, considering it features Shah Rukh in a double role. However, the film failed to live up to the trade analysts' expectations.

The film minted Rs. 64.15 crore from the domestic box office in its five-day run. "Fan" is looking at a low first-week income, but will register the second highest first-week collection.

"#Fan fails to grow despite part holiday on Tue. Fri 19.20 cr, Sat 15.40 cr, Sun 17.75 cr, Mon 6.05 cr, Tue 5.75 cr. Total: ₹ 64.15 cr," trade analyst Adarsh tweeted.
