Sensing huge potential in the burgeoning Indian smartphone market, more than half a dozen Chinese handset vendors made their debut in last two months. Now another firm, Umi, has set foot in the country.
As the name suggests, Umi's Hammer is a rugged smartphone boasting airplane grade aluminum-made alloy chassis and on the front, the company has incorporated dual-screen and additional layer of Gorilla glass shield to make the phone more durable.
Under the hood, it comes packed with 64-bit class MediaTek quad-core SoC (System on Chip), 2GB RAM, 16GB storage capacity, a 13mp camera on the back, a 3.2mp snapper on the front and 2,500mAh battery that can run the phone for anywhere between three and four days under standby mode.
With the announcement, UMI becomes the 11th Chinese consumer electronics major to foray into the smartphone business in the country.
India now hosts Xiaomi, Lenovo, Phicomm, Coolpad, Meizu, ZTE (& subsidiary Nubia), Huawei (& subsidiary Honor), Vivo, Oppo, Elephone and now Umi.

Umi Hammer has been made available on Flipkart (HERE) for just ₹10,999.
Competition:
The new Umi Hammer will be up against Lenovo K3 Note, Xiaomi Mi4i, Motorola Moto G (2 Gen), Lumia 540, Micromax YU Yuphoria, Phicomm Passion 660, Coolpad Dazen 1 and others.
