Karan Singh Grover and Sharman Joshi-starrer "Hate Story 3" has shown a dip in its busines at the Indian box office on Saturday. Its collection has inched closer to the mark of Rs 20 crore in the domestic market in two days.

Before its release, "Hate Story 3" had created a lot of ripples through its promos, which helped the film register a good amount of advance booking. Amidst huge hype and publicity, the film was released in 2,690 screens across the domestic market on 4 December, opening to decent response.

"Hate Story 3" debuted with an average of 40% occupancy in the morning shows on Friday. Many theatres ran to packed houses around the country. Its business improved in subsequent shows. The film collected Rs 9.72 crore nett at the Indian box office on the first day. It became the 13th-biggest opener of 2015.

The Vishal Pandya-directed erotic thriller received mixed response from viewers. The word of mouth took a toll on the movie's business on Saturday. On its second day, "Hate Story 3" collected Rs 8.05 crore at the Indian box office, taking its two-day domestic total to Rs 17.77 crore nett.

Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#HateStory3 continues its GLORIOUS march. Fri 9.72 cr, Sat 8.05 cr. Total: ₹ 17.77 cr. India biz. (sic)"

Its two-day business is on a par with the collection of Ranbir Kapoor's much-hyped movie "Tamasha", which has raked in Rs 24.11 crore nett at the Indian box office in two days. "Hate Story 3" is expected to cross the mark of Rs 50 crore nett at the domestic box office in the first week.

Made and promote on the budget of Rs 13.2 crore, "Hate Story 3" has already recovered its cost and shown a decent profit share in just two days. It has also become a hit. After watching the film, trade expert Taran Adarsh had tweeted: "#HateStory3: Skin show + good music + engrossing plot + popular brand + right economics = Winner at the BO. (sic)"
