"Once Upon a Time" has cast actor Faran Tahir as Captain Nemo, the hardened leader of the Nautilus submarine who has an interesting connection to Captain Hook. Tahir will appear in Episode 6 and his mythology will merge with Captain Hook's, it was recently revealed.

In a chat with International Business Times India, Tahir opened up on his role as Captain Nemo and about his character's connection to Storybrooke's Hook.

International Business Times: Congrats on OUAT. How does it feel to be a part of OUAT? What can you tell us about your role as Captain Nemo?
Faran Tahir: Thank you! It feels absolutely great. Captain Nemo is a legendary literary character. Although it was originally written as a man of South Asian descent it is hardly ever cast that way, with the exception of Naseeruddin Shah in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I am excited to take on the challenge.

IBT: How soon will we find out how Captain Nemo and Hook knew each other?
Faran: Aha! You got to wait and see but not to worry ... it will be good! :D

IBT: Do you have any idea how long you will be hanging around in Storybrooke?
Faran: I think for quite some time ... depends on the writers really :)

IBT: Besides OUAT, you are also guest-starring in "Hawaii Five-0." What can you tell us about your role in the police procedural drama?
Faran: Lucky Morad is a playboy businessman with some shady dealings.

IBT: Can you tell us something about your future projects?
Faran: There are a couple of film projects that we are working on. Action movies. Will be able to reveal more soon.

IBT: You have already made a mark in Hollywood. As a Muslim American actor, what advice would you give to aspiring actors who are Muslims? Is it difficult for a Muslim actor to get a break in Hollywood?
Faran: This is a difficult business no matter where you are but you always remind yourself to stay true to your convictions. Don't get discouraged by the speed bumps. Let's keep a focus on the journey and where we want to get to.
