Reports stating that former One Direction member has joined Islamic extremist rebel group Isis is not true.

The fake report started doing the rounds after satirical website Huzler reported that the reason behind Zayn leaving "One Direction" band is to secretly join Isis.

The website even made up a quote of "One Direction" member Harry Styles, which stated that he is aware of Zayn joining the group.

"I am aware that Zayn joined ISIS, I do not agree with his actions but he will forever be my friend and friends with the rest of One Direction," Huzlers quoted Harry as saying.

The report further stated that he is flying to Iraq to meet the militant group..

However, Malik had said in an interview that he left the world's biggest boy band to pursue a solo career.

"I feel like I've let the fans down but I can't do this anymore," Zayn said in an exclusive interview with The Sun. "It is crazy and wild and a bit mad but, at the same time, I've never felt more control in my life."

Zayn said that he wanted to quit the band for some time, but he also confessed that his decision has hurt his fans.

"You know, I did try to do something that I wasn't happy doing for a while, for the sake of maybe other people "Basically, I'm only upset [because] I feel like I may have let them down."

Meanwhile, several of his fans believed the satire website's report, while some made jokes and memes on how Malik will look like once he joins Isis.

Soon Twitter trolls targeted Malik, making up a fake tweet in which the star seemingly explained he was joining Isis.

And, hilariously, many of his fans indeed took that seriously despite the mischeif reeking of racist overtones.

While some shocked fans took to twitter and posted memesof Malik beheading journalists, some even created a hashtag #JoinISISforZayn. Additionally, there were numerous female fans who wanted to be a part of the terrorist group just to marry the singer.
